Accountant Jasmine Flynn has fled Georgia and an affair with a married man to return to New York City. An intriguing bottle she buys in an antique shop brings her both a new man and a new life, but not in the way she expected. Out of the bottle appears a genie--a fine, handsome, sexy genie!

Raziq is one of the last of his kind. Jasmine can have only one wish but is unsure what she most desires. Her hesitation has consequences--she's soon able to see the usually invisible evil that exists all around. When she finally makes her wish, life becomes only more complicated. She and Raziq are on the run, part of a battle to the end between demons and humans, with the fate of the world in their hands.

This combination paranormal and inspirational has a fast-moving, unusual plot. Jasmine and Raziq are attractive characters who bravely face their fate but could have been more deeply drawn. Jackson's details about genie life add humor. (Sep., 224 pp., $6.99)
