Book Review

by Kimberly Kaye Terry

Genre: Erotic Romance, Paranormal

RT Rating

In this blend of romance, sex and suspense, Dr. Maya Richardson has founded a refuge to help women escape prostitution. A serial killer known as "The Slayer" has been terrorizing the city for months, and the police suspect the killer is a female prostitute. Maya is drawn in when her foster sister is the first female victim.

Detective Mark Halstan is in charge of the case. When he meets Maya, his attraction for her is immediate and strong -- and soon they are in love. Together, they work to find the killer, with some paranormal help along the way.

There are some interesting touches and the characters are potentially sympathetic, but slow scenes and awkward, unrealistic dialogue throw off the pacing. The sex scenes are hot, but sometimes unfortunately phrased. (dl $5.99)
