LOVING LANEY (3) by Harmony Evans: Laney Broward has hidden her pregnancy from her family for months. But when the news is leaked to the local newspaper, she must come clean to them and to her baby’s father, Austin Johns. Their one hot night on New Year’s Eve has stayed with them both, but led to nowhere. Upon hearing of the pregnancy, Austin sets up shop in Laney’s hometown to prove he can be the kind of man she wants and the kind of father their child needs. Like the two previous books in The Browards of Montana series, there are too many instances where things are prettily and perfectly wrapped up. The ending especially is very soap opera-esque and doesn’t flow well with the rest of the story. The primary romantic plot is nicely done, but there isn’t enough background on the main characters to explain their personalities.
