Willa Barrett is an undercover detective obsessed with nailing her father's killer. Disguised as a prostitute, she gets the goods on her man, quickly hiding the evidence in youth pastor Jeff MacPhearson's back pocket. Jeff is searching for a runaway youth when he's run over by Willa. He finds it strange when he and his youth group are hiking in the mountains, and Willa—minus the blond wig—shows up. She hates the outdoors, and it's evident she's never been hiking in her life. Cynthia Cooke's LUCK AND A PRAYER (4.5) immediately caught my attention with the unusual subject matter. Some readers may find it more intense than is customary for Love Inspired books, but I was quickly drawn into the story and the suspense.
