Featherstone knows how to write sexy in this unusual tale of the fey. Thane’s seduction of Chastity is titillating and is complemented by the other well-written characters and their relationships.
The dark fey are cursed and only the virtues relating to their sins can release the Unseelie Court from its despair. Among these fey is Thane, whose sin is lust. While out riding he happens upon his virtue, Chastity, and knows immediately she is the one who will satisfy all his desires. Chastity is unaware her father, the Duke of Lennox, has bartered away not only her freedom but that of her sisters and their virtues as well. They are to become part of the Seelie Court. Then she meets Thane and her attraction to him is immediate, though she fears the sensations he awakens in her. Can she withstand his persistent advances? (SPICE, Feb., 377 pp., $14.95)
