THE MACKENZIES: LUKE
by Ana Leigh

Genre: Historical Romance, America
Setting: California, 1800s

RT Rating

After witnessing a murder, Honey Behr has no choice but to pose as Abigail Fenton, Luke MacKenzie's mail-order bride.

When Luke arrives in Sacramento to meet his bride, she's nowhere to be found. Using his lawman's skills he tracks her down, but from the instant he sees the stunning Honey he knows she is nothing like the picture of homely Abigail.

Confronted with the sensual sheriff, Honey tries to lie her way out of the situation, but Luke needs a mother for his frightened, mute son. Honey agrees to go home with Luke and opens her heart to the little boy, but not to his father.

Though he fights his desires, Luke wants Honey with a fierce passion, and there is no doubt that Honey too feels the attraction. However, the past comes back to haunt them both as Luke and his brothers set out to find the raiders who killed their mother and Luke's first wife.

Ms. Leigh has written a treasure filled with humor, passion and a melange of characters who creep right into your heart. When the MacKenzie brothers showed up for the exciting conclusion, this reader found herself eager for the next episode in the saga. FLINT can't come fast enough. SENSUAL (May, 400 pp., $4.99)
