When Angeleen MacKenzie wins a talent contest she abandons her schooling to sing on a river boat. She abandons her morals as well when she begins an affair with leading man Edward Emory. However, he leaves her when she tells him she is pregnant.

Peter Gifford has always loved Angel, though he is ten years her senior. Giff offers to marry her and she agrees, telling him she cannot be a true wife.

When they return home Angel does not tell her family the true circumstances of their marriage. When Angel discovers she is not pregnant she feels guilty about trapping Giff. Giff is both elated and frustrated.

Angel has been trying to find herself for years; is it art, music or ranching where she excels? Giff knows it is ranching, and now hes going to woo her by letting her find herself.

But the situation changes when Edward and Stella, his companion, show up at the ranch. When danger threatens the cattle, Giff and Angel discover the power of their love and Angel finally finds direction.

The MacKenzie saga continues and readers will be thrilled with these new stories from Ms. Leighs pen. I cant wait for the next book. SENSUAL (Dec., 350 pp., $5.99)
