MAD RIVER ROAD
by Joy Fielding

Genre: Mainstream, General Mainstream Fiction

RT Rating

Jamie Kellogg lives in Florida, where she works in a dead-end job at an insurance company and bemoans that her latest boyfriend forgot to tell her he was married. Jamie meets Brad Fisher, a sexy man who soon becomes her lover and who suggests they travel to Ohio to visit his young son and ex-wife. Their journey starts as a lark but becomes something more sinister when Brad reveals the darker side of his personality.

Meanwhile, in Dayton, Ohio, on Mad River Road, Emma and Lily become friends. Both are single mothers, and their young sons are kindergarten classmates at school. But each woman has a secret past.

Fielding is a masterful writer who weaves these multifaceted characters into a plot rich with mystery and intrigue. Ripe with suspense, this
page-turner is a must for readers seeking a gripping, top-notch novel. (Jan., 352 pp., $25.00)
