RT Rating

Exciting series authors Barbara Boswell, Carole Buck and Cassie Miles join forces to deliver a sprightly and fun filled anthology. What do black suede pumps, iridescent platform sandals and combat boots have in common? They are the driving forces behind three ingenious tales of romance and true love.

Ms. Boswell kicks off the book with "Birthday Shoes," the story of long suffering legal assistant Janessa Balint and her workaholic boss, trial attorney R.F Jordan. The mysterious black pumps and an ancient family gypsy curse combine to wreak havoc in both their lives.

Carole Buck's "Cupid Wears Combat Boots" serves up Hollywood actress Kayla Delany who is on the verge of finally advancing her career by starring in her first action/adventure movie. In order to get her body buffed into shape, the studio is sending her to an exclusive boot camp run by ex-special forces member Quinn Harris. Kayla never imagined she would discover the man of her dreams while slogging around in combat boots.

In Cassie Miles' "Heart and Soles," button-down CPA Julia Buchanan needs the assistance of pair of platform sandals to break free of her own inner restrictions to take another chance on love and former lover Spencer Kendall.

MAGIC SLIPPERS contains a trio of tales sure to delight. (July, 384 pp., $5.99)
