THE MAKING OF A PRINCESS (3) by Teresa Carpenter: Since she was a girl, Amanda Carn has always dreamed of being rescued from her lonely existence by a knight in shining armor. Enter Xavier Marcel LeDuc, head of security for the kingdom of Pasadonia. He is floored by Amanda’s beauty but notices she looks all too familiar. As they swap stories, he’s shocked to learn she could very well be a relative to the king! If she does have royal blood, she’s off-limits thanks to his commitment to the republican guard. Carpenter’s modern-day fairy tale is a fun read, and the author’s originality sparkles like crown jewels. But readers may wish for a stronger bond between the leads.
