The first installment in the Best Men trilogy is more than worth the cover price. Attorney Kyle Chatham is almost too good to be true but, hey, that's what makes this so much fun. You can count on Alers to bring the adult back to adult romance.

Dedicated social worker Ava Warrick crashes into Kyle's car on her way to an emergency meeting with a client. She lands in the hospital with a concussion, and Kyle takes it as his responsibility to see to her care. He thinks that fate had a hand in the car accident that brought them together. Only Ava doesn't believe in fate, so it becomes Kyle's mission to convince her that they met for a reason.

Even though neither one is looking for a relationship, it develops naturally, and these highly motivated professionals discover that love can come at you from any direction -- even from opposite ends of a fender-bender. (KIMANI/ARABESQUE, Jun., 274 pp., $6.99)
