MAN OF FORTUNE
The second of the Best Men series
could be renamed "Where Can I
Get One of Those"? Whew! Duncan Gilmore is next up in the queue, and he's just as tasty as the first gentleman in this trio. The author easily captures the electric elements that bring these strong personalities together. The ending wraps things up nicely, leaving few questions unanswered.
When Duncan is trapped in an elevator with Dr. Tamara Wolcott, he takes an instant interest. This is a welcome change because Duncan has been in mourning since his fiancee was killed on 9/11. He hasn't completely resolved his feelings about his loss. He definitely loved her, but was it romantic love or guilt? Duncan was trying to save her from her sheltered life, but was that enough to base their future on? For her part, Tamara's broken marriage was no less traumatic, and she's not anxious to become intimately involved either. These two certainly have their work cut out for them!
