RT Rating

This 2-in-1 offering is comprised of "Shaw's Tail" and "Christmas Pride." (The latter was previously released as A Pride Christmas in Brooklyn and reviewed by RT in 2005.) The novel showcases two breeding male lion shapeshifters who fall for females so unlike themselves that it drives everyone wild. Supporting characters comically and literally fight like cats and dogs, and the sizzling romances turn animal-like in bed. "Shaw's Tail" is a drastically faster read than "Christmas Pride," but the re-appearance of main characters from the first story in the second links them well.

Battered and bruised, Brendan Shaw still has enough wit about him to know the she-wolf beauty holding vigil at his hospital bedside is his mate; the problem is she doesn't know it. Rhonda is used to coming and going as she pleases, and though she enjoys her time with Shaw; her flight instincts may prove stronger than their attraction. (BRAVA, Oct., 400 pp., $14.00)
