In the first novel of her newest series, the fantastic Shayne has a hit once again. She has meticulously built an intriguing plot with equally strong characters, in the form of ancient witches reborn to fulfill their destiny. Readers will savor this superb story from start to finish and eagerly anticipate the next book.

Indira Simon’s stunningly real dreams are beginning to attack her. When one nightmare has her waking with welts on her arms, she knows it’s time to get help. A lapsed Wiccan, Indira contacts her local High Priestess. But help comes from a more unusual source. Father Thomas has petitioned the court to leave the priesthood when the legend he has heard all his life — of three witches returning to help their master — shows signs of being real. He believes Indira is one of the witches. As Indira’s dreams grow more dangerous, and love begins to spark between these two, it will take a major miracle for them to survive. Loved this story. Only thing I wish is that it didnt have to end! Maggie has everything a love story should be plus more. Hard to put into words how great a story the Portal Series are going to be.

THIS IS A MUST READ

This book is very fast paced, page turning, where you want to know what happens next. I didn't put the book down until I finished. I have been a Maggie Shayne fan for close to 10 years and I can already tell this series is going to be a favorite of mine.
