When Anthony "Tiger" Garitano returns battle-scarred and traumatized from Afghanistan after losing his squad in a bombing, he is wracked by guilt and convinced that his marriage to army nurse Kristen is over. But she's willing to work to save the man she loves and teach him to love the daughter born while he was away. Elizabeth Ashtree tells an affecting tale of the aftermath of war and the difficulties in keeping a military marriage together. The latter half of A Marriage of Majors (3) degenerates into a kidnapping and bioterrorism plot in an attempt to heighten tension, and it dampens the mood of a touching love story.
