MARRYING MISS MARSHAL (4) by Lacy Williams: Wyoming Territory, 1889: After Danna Carpenter’s husband, the marshal of their town, is killed, she takes over his job. Half the town council don’t want a female marshal, so Danna has her work cut out for her. Chas O’Grady is a private investigator looking at a spate of cattle thefts, a case on which his job depends. Chas and Danna meet after he is almost trampled in a stampede, and realize they have much in common. But there are forces at work neither one of them foresees. Williams’ debut is a great story with a twist, and it will keep readers riveted.
