The second book in the Lone Star Legends series is a heartwarming and heart-wrenching love story. The story includes romance, mystery and the difficulties of coming to terms with the deaths of loved ones. The characters face difficult journeys of self-discovery. Lough is a talented author who makes her characters come to life.

Eagle Pass, Texas, 1888: While on their way to Mexico to start a medical clinic, the O’Reillys’ stage is held up and Liam is shot dead in front of his wife, Levee. Now Levee is starting over as a teacher to support herself. She did love Liam, but he was a hard man to love and she has no intention of ever marrying again.

Daniel Neville is kept extremely busy running his ranch and taking care of his family. His guilt over the death of his twin sister all those years ago is still as strong as ever; he does not believe he deserves the love of a good woman. Levee and Daniel meet quite by accident and their long-buried wishes to find and be acceptable mates come to the surface. (WHITAKER HOUSE, Jan., 320 pp., $14.99)
