Book Review

by Lauraine Snelling

Genre: Inspirational, Historical Romance

RT Rating

The first in Snelling's new series, Home to Blessing, features characters from her previous Red River Valley series. You're best off reading the other series first, since the family relationships aren't clear here. However, everything evokes 1903 North Dakota in vivid detail.

Astrid has always dreamed
of being a doctor, but when the opportunity to study medicine in Chicago arises, she hesitates. After a family disaster, Astrid decides to stay in Blessing to study under her sister-in-law, Elizabeth.
Joshua returns to Blessing after a
two-year absence and wants to court
Astrid, who is attracted to him. When an opportunity to study in Chicago
presents itself again, Astrid must
choose between love and pursuing
her dream. (BETHANY HOUSE, Oct., 384
