MELT INTO YOU

This is a delightful story with a hero who could easily be a real jerk, but is quite a sweetheart, and a heroine determined to not be hurt by love again, yet can’t help herself. Her mistrust of the hero is quite understandable, and his struggle to learn how to be good is entertaining.

Hired as administrative assistant to Damon Torrance 10 years ago, Natasha Jennings has transformed Torrance Chocolates into a corporate power player. Damon depends on Natasha to keep his life running smoothly, which is why he gets a real wake-up call when she quits. Natasha is amazed at how lucky she seems to be away from Damon, while he’s having a run of bad luck — including a flooded house. Convinced that Natasha has his luck, he seeks to get her back. This ends with him staying with her and trying to be good — which is very difficult when she apparently is ready to be bad! (ZEBRA, May, 352 pp., $6.99)
