This entertaining anthology will summon memories of your favorite car chase movie, with the good guys trying to catch the bad, using any mode of transportation available. Fast-paced and exciting, it has a little something for every taste.

In “Soul Possession” by Banks, Truitt and Rick are tracking a killer. Jessie Callahan is a barmaid at a local spot that Truitt and Rick frequent. Both men want to take her home and when she literally falls into their laps, she’s off to their home for a three-way adventure. “Wanted” by Tabke has Colin Daniels, a member of FIST, assigned to bring Sophia Gilletti from a safe house in Lake Tahoe to N.Y. to testify against her ex-husband. Colin and Sophia have history dating back to high school. On their dangerous trip back, they rekindle their love. “Taking the Heat” from Day is another case of transporting a witness to testify and dodging bullets along the way. After Layla Creed witnesses the murder of an undercover DEA agent, she is placed in WITSEC and U.S. Marshal Brian Simmons must get her back to San Diego safely. (HEAT, Oct., 329 pp., $15.00)
