This comic features cool art and remains true to the story. It's a neat book, but readers may wish there was more introspection and documented awareness, which is always the best part of a Briggs book.

Mercy is a coyote shapeshifter raised by werewolves who knows more about the paranormal world than she'd like. In this first volume of the four-book comic series, she stumbles into a struggle between werewolf packs. We see her talent with fixing automobiles and her wish to teach and lead a normal life. But it's hard to be normal when life is extraordinary. (DABEL, 2008, $3.99, Comic, UPC: 79357354324000001)
