Book Review

A MERMAID'S RANSOM
by Joey W. Hill

Genre: Erotic Romance, Paranormal, Anthology

RT Rating

Hill takes her story into dark territory. Early scenes are not for the faint of heart, nor for anyone looking for a warm, fuzzy love story (nor for anyone dead set against borderline rape scenes). The second half is fairly slow moving, and some readers may find the hero not entirely redeemable, but the talented Hill treats her characters with great care.

The third installment of the
Daughters of Arianne series picks up with Alexis, the beautiful and innocent daughter of the angel Jonah and mermaid Anna. Alexis has chosen to live a normal college girl life, though her mer-angel aura and empathic nature mark her as special. When she starts dreaming of a tortured soul bound by pain and flame, Alexis can't help but reach out to him, even as it puts her life in mortal
danger. (BERKLEY SENSATION, Dec., 394 pp., $15.00)
