MICHAL
by Jill Eileen Smith

Genre: Inspirational, Historical Romance

RT Rating

Smith gives a heart-rending view into the daily life of Princess Michal, daughter of King Saul and first wife of David. This is a time of war, passion and drama, and the author has clearly done her research. The result is an emotional roller-coaster ride with insightful characters.

As the daughter of King Saul, Michal leads a privileged life at the palace, but she's determined to control her own world one day. When the harpist David emerges as a great warrior, Saul promises him marriage to Michal. But the king's jealousy of his new son-in-law forces Michal and David to separate.
After her father dies, David reigns and Michal renews her desire to be in control -- to be queen. But David's other wives and Michal's demands estrange them. Will King David ever take Michal back into his confidence again? (REVELL, Mar., 384 pp., $13.99)
