Myrna Mackenzie's Midas's Bride (4) is set in Red Rose, Illinois, a town with a unique problem. Red Rose is short on eligible men and overflowing with women who need them. Plans are afoot to bring more men to town. Pregnant landscape artist Libby asks the local matchmaker to find a father for her baby. When wealthy entrepreneur Griffen buys property in Red Rose and converts it into a showplace for his sports empire, he hires Abby to design the elaborate grounds, and soon the two are fighting their mutual attraction. Strong writing and solid characters make visiting Red Rose a true delight.
