MIDNIGHT BRUNCH
by Marta Acosta

Genre: Mainstream, Chick lit

RT Rating

The follow-up to Happy Hour at Casa Dracula picks up Milagro de Los Santos' wild story as house guest and live-in lover to Oswald Grant. Acosta's zany sense of humor thrives as she throws Milagro into even greater peril -- which is to be expected when one takes up residence with a family of vampires.

Milagro is living large
with boyfriend Oswald in his family's California guest house. Her relationship with his grandmother, Edna, is complicated yet caring, and life is swell until other members of Oswald's family arrive -- namely his disapproving parents. After Oswald fails to defend Mil to his folks and leaves for some temporary work out of town, she retreats to her friend's house and finds herself in danger aplenty. (Pocket, May, 336 pp., $14.00)
