Book Review

Evans makes you fall in love with his characters from the first page of this follow-up to 2010’s The Walk. I’ve waited and wondered what would happen to Alan Christofferson once his walk began. Now I know and feel like I’ve gone on my own journey in the process.

When widower and former advertising executive Alan Christofferson loses everything, he makes a decision to walk from Washington state to Key West. But after he’s viciously stabbed on the side of the road, he’s homeless and bed bound until he is saved by a woman named Angel. She takes him into her home but she needs him to save her before he can continue his journey. (SIMON AND SCHUSTER, May, 352 pp., $22.00)
