MISCONCEPTIONS
by Pamela Leigh Starr

Genre: Contemporary Romance, Multicultural

RT Rating

Cassie loves Daniel, but his insecurities keep him from believing her. She thinks it's because of their interracial relationship (she's white, he's black). But when Cassie becomes pregnant, he convinces her to marry him. Cassie knows that Daniel loves her but is dismayed by his reluctance to admit his true feelings.

Unwilling to live in such a marriage, Cassie moves home to New Orleans.
It's only when she's injured that Daniel admits his love for her. Unfortunately, it is not smooth sailing even after this.

Cassie learns her beloved cousin
T has adopted the beliefs of a white supremacy group. Will Cassie and Daniel's families be able to protect
them and their unborn child from
T's fanaticism?

This is a realistic romance that
glides along at a fast pace and with
a warm heart. It manages to tackle
very serious subject matter and yet still incorporate a solid romance. Because
of the obstacles they face, Cassie and Daniel grow and develop dynamically, and by the end, both are changed forever. (Mar., 220 pp., $9.95)
