RT Rating

This new entry in Hamilton’s Alex McKnight series is one of his best. The intriguing plot grabs your attention immediately and moves at a steady pace. The characters are as strong as the plot. They react to events believably, and their emotions ring true. Hamilton’s perfect balance between plot and characters results in an immensely satisfying read. Hamilton’s superb writing delivers a great story that’s enriched by a cast of fully fledged characters. You’ll not put this down willingly, and when you do, you'll still be thinking about it.

PI Alex McKnight is hired to find out why a college kid killed himself. It sounds simple enough. He expects to find out the kid just was having a bad day, and that will be that. But as events unfold, McKnight suspects he’s witnessing a horrific plan being carried out by an evil and cunning person. Suspense abounds as he tries to anticipate and stop the perp’s next move.
