MISSING (4) by Debra Webb: Webb’s one of the best names in the business when it comes to romantic suspense, but with Missing, the romance is definitely sidelined in this first-class and terrifying thriller wrapped around a missing child. When her niece vanishes, Melissa Shepherd swallows her pride and calls the one man she’s sure can help her — the same man who broke her heart. Equalizer Jonathan Foley figures he owes Melissa, not only for breaking her heart, but also for her role in dragging him back from the brink of self-destruction, and swears he’ll find the child. The suspects, however, are legion and the motives range from jealousy to blackmail to love.
