THE MISSING MONARCH (3) by Rachelle McCalla: Crown Prince Thaddeus of Lydia went into hiding six years ago in hopes of protecting his family. He asked his wife, Monica, to go on with her life. She complied — but, now, she has been kidnapped and is forced to bring Thad back home. Octavian plans to overtake the crown and is holding Thad’s son hostage until Thad signs over his royal claim to Octavian. Thad fears letting down Monica and his son, but he doesn’t know who to trust. While the book’s pace starts slowly, it picks up as the suspense and danger build.
