MISSION

Though a pleasant romp that some sci-fi fans might enjoy, the story in Mission doesn't make much sense, meandering throughout with no clear point. Most readers will be left hanging.

Men are disappearing from Earth and FBI Agent Jordon Mitchell is sent to learn why. Verna Toneck-RA, from the planet Vixen, is leading the mission to find compatible men to live on Vixen. Jordon tries to find the men who applied for jobs at Verna's "office."

Dismissed as an unacceptable applicant, Jordon hides away to look for clues. When the ship takes off for Vixen, he's trapped, but Verna takes a liking to him. But a female-dominated world might be too much for Jordon and the other men. (GENESIS/Indigo Love Spectrum, '07, 303 pp., $8.95)
