THE MISTRESS OF HANOVER SQUARE
Genre: Historical Romance, England
With this story, Anne Herries continues her Hanover Square series with a wide cast of characters, a touch of suspense and Regency-era intrigue. Readers will appreciate the way that Herries adds mystery to Amelia and Gerard's relationship, which is already complicated by conflict caused by the hero and heroine's past history. All through the previous two books, this thread of danger was depicted and now the mystery is finally solved in this last story.
Heiress Amelia Royston fears Gerard Ravenshead has forgotten her and the love they once shared. However, celebrating Christmas at the Pendleton estate brings a surprise for Amelia when Gerard asks her to marry him and become his motherless daughter’s mama. Passionate Amelia can’t be sure if Gerard still loves her or if he just wants her in his life because of his daughter. After all, he professed to love her once, yet went away and married another. But why did his French wife commit suicide and who has been threatening Amelia and Gerard? Gerard’s dead wife’s lover certainly wants revenge, and Amelia’s brother will do anything to stop Amelia's marriage. But is there someone else who is willing to stop this marriage at any cost?
