FROM THE MISTS OF WOLF CREEK (3) by Rebecca Brandewyne: When her grandmother leaves her the farmhouse where she spent some of her youth, Hallie Muldoon decides to move back to Wolf Creek to fix up the farm. En route, she has a mysterious encounter with a large black wolf. Once there, she meets her Aunt Gwen and Trace Coltrane, a man she hires to help fix up the farm. When threatening things start happening, the black wolf appears again and saves Hallie from both a peeping Tom and an animal trap in the woods. Do the strange occurrences have something to do with the death of Hallie's mother years earlier? Brandewyne offers a novel and interesting plot, but the story ends abruptly and is slightly unsatisfying in its lack of a true paranormal aspect.
