When widow and pilot Rissa Mathews moves to Montana to get help from family and friends -- her daughter has changed drastically since her ex-husband died in a car crash -- she meets and falls for police officer Jonas Taggert. And while Jonas falls for her too, he's less than happy about the influence Rissa's troubled daughter seems to have on his own well-behaved one. In Montana Skies (4), Kay Stockham writes knowledgeably about the tension in a troubled family. Having been hurt in the past, her characters are very realistic in their reluctance to get involved again.
