Finch More lives an uneventful and quiet life, running an import business with her brother, Lattimer. Then Ross Viscount Kilrood enters her life.

Ross stirs up feelings in Finch that she believes are better left unexplored. Ross has a mission to undertake, one that involves the safety of many, and when his business interests with the Mores become known to his enemies, they are all exposed to a great danger.

Finch is thrown into a panic when a missive from Lattimer arrives, informing her that he must go away and she must not search for him.

Though Ross tries to keep Finch safe, she always manages to be where she shouldnt. It is imperative that Ross finish his mission, for his opponents would not hesitate to kill them both.

With much wit, a cast of oddball characters and a pixilated old shade, Ms. Camerons MORE AND MORE is a delightful historical intrigue to while away a lazy afternoon. SENSUAL (Apr., 350 pp., $6.50)
