Darius has little use for humans. As a djinni, he is a being of magic and throughout history there have been numerous occasions where his kind have been enslaved by evil humans.

Darius has always been extremely powerful and focused but recently he is having problems. A prophecy reveals that Darius will not regain his full powers until he marries Isis Montgomery. Isis is a descendant of a long line of humans who once practiced magic.

These days, Isis could use a little magic. She is trying to rebuild her shattered career, creating wonderful perfumes and scents, after her former fianci Ben Fontenot destroyed her reputation and stole her business. Isis needs a signature scent to launch her comeback. She may have found it in Madam Paris small, isolated store.

Isis doesnt believe in magic, but gets talked into saying a special incantation that is supposed to bring her a genie to grant her wish. And when she performs the ceremony, she is astonished when a real djinni appears.

Darius is furious to discover his future bride performing the hated binding spell. Fortunately, he stops her before she completes the ritual. He realizes that he has a dangerous enemy on the loose. The evil Pari is gaining more strength and unless Darius can gain Isiss help, they
are in jeopardy.

Kathleen Nance follows up her previous tale of magic and fantasy with another winner. Ms. Nance has a very special touch! (Mar., 400 pp., $5.99)
