Book Review

A MOST DANGEROUS PROFESSION
by Karen Hawkins

Genre: Historical Romance, Scotland
Sensuality: HOT
Setting: 1822 Scotland

Fans of the continuing Hurst Amulet series will enjoy this addition. Complex characters and plot, a parallel storyline, a quest, two star-crossed lovers and fast pacing make this a most delightful read.

The hunt for a small, antique onyx box leads Robert Hurst to Scotland. He is a buyer and seller of antiquities and employee of the Home Office, but to Moira MacAllister, Robert is more. He had her arrested as a spy. She escaped. But escaping memories is another matter, for she and Robert share history, a common enemy and a marriage. Moira wishes she could trust Robert. Within minutes of meeting again, she flees. George Aniston wants the onyx box, too. He takes Moira’s young daughter hostage, ordering her to find the box. Robert is hot on her trail. What follows is adventure, romance, suspense and a dramatic, satisfying conclusion. (POCKET, Nov., 349 pp., 7.99)
