If you’ve missed good, old-fashioned whodunits where the identity of the murderer is revealed in a stately drawing room, this latest Rex Graves mystery is for you. Contemporary in setting but classic in style and voice, it’ll have you guessing to the very end.

All Rex wants is a quiet weekend at his new country estate with his sweetie Helen. What he gets is a house full of guests who become stranded when a series of storms prevents travel. A cut telephone line, a dead ex-girlfriend and a murderer on the premises make the weekend far more interesting than Rex ever expected. Will he be able to unmask the killer before he strikes again? (MIDNIGHT INK, Mar., 216 pp., $14.95)
