MURDER ON THE ROCKS
by Allyson K. Abbott

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Amateur Sleuth

RT Rating

The first book in the Mack’s Bar Mystery series is a hit! Abbott keeps things fast and interesting, and her strong and likable heroine has a lot to deal with. Throw in a bunch of would-be crime-solving barflies, and you have the makings for a great ride.

Mackenzie “Mack” Dalton owns Mack’s bar in Milwaukee; she inherited it after the murder of her father, the original Mack. One morning, she finds a body in the bar’s dumpster. When the victim is revealed as her late father’s girlfriend, whom she resented, Mack becomes a prime suspect. Wanting to open the bar so she doesn’t lose any money, Mack agrees to “hire” police detective Duncan Albright to investigate. As they question possible suspects, some of Mack’s regular customers decide to solve the murder themselves. Mack and Duncan try to eliminate people from the list, but it keeps getting longer.
