MURDER OF A STACKED LIBRARIAN
by Denise Swanson

Genre: Mystery/Suspense/Thriller, Mystery, Amateur Sleuth

RT Rating

A quick read, this is a fun adventure in a small town with lovable characters and an intriguing plot. Parts of the book lose steam, but the breezy writing style still makes it an easy read.

In addition to the usual holiday frenzy in Scumble River, school psychologist Skye Denison is also planning her wedding to police chief Wally Boyd — in a week. But after the town’s attractive librarian, Yvonne Osborn, is murdered, whether or not Wally will even be able to attend his own wedding is in question as he works on finding a murderer. Yvonne had annoyed some townspeople with her sense of right and wrong — did someone in town finally decide to take care of her haughty attitude once and for all? Or is there another possible motive that Wally and Skye are overlooking? And will they solve the case in time to walk down the aisle? (OBSIDIAN, Sep., 249 pp., $7.99)
