Book Review

MY BEAUTIFUL ENEMY
by Sherry Thomas

Genre: Historical Romance, England, Victorian Period
Sensuality: HOT
Setting: Victorian England

RT Rating

Thomas breaks away from her usual style and creates a wonderfully original story, told partially through flashbacks, in which a daring heroine and an adventurer hero come to grips with their past and future. Readers may be divided between the flashbacks and the present plotline, but no one will be immune to the underlying emotional power, depth of character, steamy sensuality and remarkable storytelling Thomas delivers. Here is a novel that can be read on several levels and will be cherished by many.

It is difficult for Captain Leighton Atwood to believe the stunning woman standing before him is the mysterious girl he met years ago in China. Catherine Blade is nothing like the bold, driven, clever warrior who completely enchanted him, stole his heart and disappeared. In the years since, Catherine has been on a mission to locate sacred jade tablets. As danger again stalks them, Catherine and Leighton join forces, learn to trust in one another and seize the opportunity to reclaim their love. (BERKLEY SENSATION, Aug., 304 pp., $7.99)
