MY CHRISTMAS COWBOY (2) by Shelley Galloway: Rodeo champion Trent Riddel is home recuperating from his injuries — injuries that could end his career — when Jolene Arnold stops by to present him with his daughter. The result of a one-night fling between the childhood friends, there’s no doubt that Amanda Rose is a Riddel, but Trent’s not one for hearth and home, never mind with a woman like Jolene. Nobody ever thought the pretty barmaid would overcome her family background, but Trent knew under her flashy exterior there remained the heart of a hurt child. As much as Galloway’s Riddel family is always entertaining, there’s not a lot of romance in this visit and even the underlying mystery of disappearing farm equipment isn’t enough to keep the pages turning.
