MY FAKE FIANCÉE (4.5) by Nancy Warren: In order to get a big promotion, David Wolfe needs to produce a fiancée — fast. The trouble is, none of the women he dates fit the bill. Enter chef Chelsea Hammond, a friend of his sister’s who needs a place to stay while getting her new catering business started. A deal is struck, but things go horribly wrong when they break Chelsea’s “no contact” rule and she falls in love with David, a self-confessed commitment-phobe. Charming, well-matched characters, a slow-building romance and a sweet subplot involving the hero’s sister make the often-used premise work beautifully.
