Shirley Hailstock again displays her tremendous storytelling ability with My Lover, My Friend (4.5), a moving story about two people who triumph over tragedy to find love. Hailstock so eloquently puts words together that you'll jump for joy when true love prevails. Evan Harper finds himself on a bridge in the middle of the night, surrounded by physical and mental darkness. He is shocked back into reality by childhood friend Rose Albright, who initially brings light with the headlights of her vehicle. Later, she gets him to release his inner demons. Unbeknownst to Evan, Rose is hiding from the grief of losing her husband and has firsthand knowledge of Evan's pain. While supporting each other, they not only renew their friendship and face their demons, they move forward with their lives together.
