Della Murphy is a high-ranking United Nations executive who cant shake her fears of poverty. As a child, Della watched her family struggle. She also witnessed the tragic death of her baby brother, who died because her family could not afford medical treatment. Della vows to make a better life for herself. She wants a professional man who can provide her with all the trappings of a good life and she thinks shes found that in Ambassador Craig Radcliff. Too bad there are no sparks.

At work, Della finds passion with Luke McKnight. Luke seems to have everything Della wants in a man except the high-paying job. She tries to deny her feelings for him, but Luke is a persistent man. Through his love, Della learns that the amount of money in his wallet isnt important. Its the amount of love in his heart that counts.

Ms. Forster is one of the best romance writers on the scene today. This novel will not disappoint you. (On the Shelf., 280 pp., $15.95)
