Book Review

Readers may initially find Breanna childish and willful, but Alers also instills her with a vulnerability that will beg you to care for that lost soul inside. Readers will become invested in Breanna and the story as she works to redeem herself.

Being high and behind the wheel of her car is exactly what Breanna Parker promised her recording-mogul father that she would avoid doing. But once her brother rescues her (again), it becomes clear how truly careless with her body Breanna is. Her indiscretions catch up with her, and her actions are soon all over the Internet. A hasty marriage to her father's protege ends before it begins, and Breanna finally begins to grow up.

She relocates to Europe and works hard to heal her soul. Meeting Reuben Douglas helps her start her design business and begin to realize what love really is. (KIMANI, Mar., 320 pp., $14.95)
