Raging hormones and plenty of steamy sex make up for a somewhat thin suspense plot. Expect lots of anger, stubbornness, ripped clothing and shouting matches -- and that's just between the two main characters. The secondary characters provide fist fights, brawls, shootings and explosions. All of this physical action could be good or bad, depending on your bent.
Bar owner Rogue's tough- girl attitude belies her youth and innocence. Sheriff Zeke has turned down her advances, but she still hungers after him. Zeke thinks she's too young for him and might be frightened off by his edgy sexual desires, then there's the white supremacist group he's investigating. He fears that an entanglement might endanger Rogue, since this same group was responsible for the deaths of his mother and his wife. Despite his caution, Rogue and Zeke begin a sizzling sexual relationship, just as the bodies start piling up. (BERKLEY, Feb., 384 pp., $15.00)
