Nimuë is a firecracker of a main character, and the snappy dialogue and fast-moving plot make this urban fantasy/ ménage story a quick read — because you won’t be able to stop turning the pages. Instant attraction makes for some great unresolved sexual tension here as the plot moves forward and, like Nim, you’ll find it difficult to choose between Colin and Sebastian. Knights sets up a potential sequel nicely, as well.
Nimue Taylor dropped out of college to work as a collection agent. For vampires. She likes the job, but her boss, Colin, is annoying as anything — until the night she’s attacked by a client and saved by a stranger who knows her boss. Not to mention that she’s been bitten by a vampire gone bad, and gets wrapped up in a centuries-long pursuit of a magical stone. If she happens to become involved with her boss and his may-or-may-not-be lover, Sebastian, it’s a welcome distraction! (SAMHAIN, Dec., 341 pp., $16.00)
