The Nerd Who Loved Me is a delightfully fast-moving and humorous romance peopled with colorful and charming characters, including the delightful Dexter. NOTE: Cameo appearances by characters from Thompson's Nerd in Shining Armor are quite enjoyable.

Harry Ambrewster is a boring accountant who happens to be neighbors with Vegas showgirl Lainie Terrell. When Harry volunteers to babysit her genius 4-year-old son, Dexter, he doesn't plan on her ex-boyfriend, Dexter's dad, Joey, showing up.

Joey wants two things: custody of his son and Lainie out of the picture. Though Joey leaves without a fight, Lainie still needs to get out of town, and quick. Convinced to leave Dexter with Harry's ex-Vegas showgirl mom and her friends, Lainie and Harry skedaddle. Posing as a happily married couple, Harry finds Lainie to be as attracted to him as he is to her. Now, if they can just figure out what Joey is up to, a future together might not be just a fantasy.
