RT Rating

One of the legends of romantic suspense proves yet again why her books are consistent bestsellers as she delves into the dangerous world of salvage and treasure hunting. Both Lowell’s protagonists carry scars and nightmares from past diving experiences, with her heroine swearing never to return. The plot is intricate, the suspense intense and the romance sizzling. A perfect read!

Unable to save her parents during a horrific diving accident years ago, Kate Donnelly left the family marine salvage business behind. Only a desperate plea from her brother makes Kate return to St. Vincent. Bad financial times have left Kate’s grandfather and brother on the verge of losing the business. They signed a bad contract with the British government and need Kate’s financial expertise. Holden Cameron is a former British military diver whose injury has forced him into less active duty. Holden’s assignment is to find out if the Donnelly family is stealing the treasure they are supposed to be recovering. Initial distrust turns to an uneasy alliance as Kate and Holden work together to find out what is really going on. (WILLIAM MORROW, Apr., 384 pp., $26.99)
